The Tax Commission Office collects and disburses tax revenue for McDuffie County. Taxes are collected for the McDuffie County Board of Commissioners, the City of Thomson, the McDuffie County Board of Education and the State of Georgia.
The Tax Commission Office is also responsible for the registration of motor vehicles within McDuffie County, the collection of timber tax from timber owners whose timber is located in McDuffie County and with titling all vehicles, trailers and mobile homes owned by McDuffie County residents.
