Annual Chamber Meeting
The Annual Chamber Meeting, one of the Chamber's signature events, is an exciting evening of recognition and awards. Members gather to welcome the new Board of Directors, celebrate the Chamber's recent accomplishments and look ahead at issues and opportunities facing the Thomson-McDuffie County area. The event begins with a reception followed by dinner and entertainment.
Administrative Professionals' Week
Administrative Professionals' Week is observed annually during the last full week in April as a way to recognize secretaries and their importance in the work place. The National Secretary Association organized this week-long celebration for secretaries, administrative assistants and office managers in 1952 as National Secretaries Week, which is now the International Association of Administrative Professionals.
Administrative Professionals' Day is celebrated by the Chamber with a special luncheon as way to thank businesses support staff for their hard.
Blind Willie Blues Festival
The Activities Council of Thomson and the community of Thomson have discovered a formula that brings in great music, honors a native son and provides financial support for area arts and artists. The Blind Willie McTell Blues Festival is held annually each May in celebration of one of the true pioneers and all-time greats of country blues guitar, Blind Willie McTell, who was born south of Thomson, Ga.
Dearing MayFest
Dearing MayFest activities include a tractor parade with hay rides for kids, quilt raffle drawings, live entertainment including gospel groups and kids activities, as well as food and arts and crafts vendors and a Dearing history display.
Classic Car Show at the Depot
The Annual Classic Car Show includes food vendors, music from the 50s and 60s and activities for children. Trophies are awarded in several categories.
Beach Blast
The 8th Annual Beach Blast will be held in June at the 1810 Country Inn & Winery in Thomson, Ga.
Dinner By the Tracks
Dinner By the Tracks is hosted by the Thomson-McDuffie Chamber of Commerce. It's held in the Thomson Depot at 111 Railroad Street. Entertainment follows the dinner.
Taste of Fall
The 4th Annual Thomsons Taste of Fall, presented by the American Heart Association, is held at the Historic Box Factory.
Annual Tree Lighting
Bring the family for this traditional tree lighting and visit with Santa.
Festival Off Main is held in the city's downtown historic district along Railroad Street. It offers a variety of activities for the entire family. Festivities begin on Friday night with the traditional tree lighting and visit with Santa. They continue on Saturday with a 5k run/walk, art exhibit, arts and crafts, antiques, entertainment and food court. The annual Christmas parade is held in the afternoon.
