McDuffie County : Chairman

Chairman's Welcome

Charlie Newton

Thank you for visiting our community Web site.

If you don't find the information you're looking for, please call our Chamber of Commerce at (706) 597-1000 or use this form.

This Web site helps make our local government more accessible for McDuffie County citizens.

One of our goals for thomson-mcduffie.com is to give more detailed information about happenings in the county and city governments that may affect your life. Another goal is to enable you to do government business from the comfort of your home or office.

Please do not hesitate to let us know how we can make this site more useful.

McDuffie is a diverse county with much to offer. Within 10 miles of Thomson, we have: two excellent golf courses; a beautiful lake with 1,200 miles of shoreline; the Rock House, the oldest standing dwelling of its type in the state of Georgia; excellent specialty shopping; several hunting preserves; and dining experiences for every taste.

Next time you're in the area, spend a little time with us. You won't be disappointed.

If you are looking for a place to expand or relocate your business or industry, we welcome you. McDuffie County is industry friendly. We will do everything we can to assist you during your expansion/relocation.

We have developed industrial property, a highly motivated and conscientious workforce, workforce screening and training programs, a top-notch school system, and a millage rate in the lowest 25% in Georgia.

We hope that what you see on our website convinces you to give us a look in person. We think our community is the greatest in the world. We'd be willing to bet that if you give us a chance, we can show you that we've pretty much got that right!
