McDuffie County schools are a great place to learn. Our schools benefit from unwavering community support. The Board of Education works with local government and citizens to provide a community environment that supports learning at every level.
Our children are our greatest priority, and our community is dedicated to the continued support and improvement of education in McDuffie County.
Our teachers are among the finest in the country; many hold national certification and our administrators hold terminal degrees. All of the McDuffie County Schools are fully accredited by state standards, the Georgia Accrediting Commission and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Maxwell Elementary and Thomson High School are both Georgia and National Schools of Excellence. All four of our elementary schools have for years been named Title I Distinguished Schools.

Augusta Technical College operates under the supervision of the State Board of Technical and Adult Education, serving the needs of business, industry, and the public in a five-county area in east central Georgia. Augusta Technical College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award Associate of Applied Technology Degrees, Diplomas,
and Technical Certificates of Credit in more than 90 programs.
