| The Rock House |
The Rock House was built around 1785 and is the oldest stone residence in Georgia.
The design and construction are typical of the New Jersey area from which the Quakers, who settled in Wrightsborough, came.
The house was occupied continuously until the 1930s. It is now owned by the Wrightsboro Quaker Foundation, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Directions to the Rock House
From Washington Road and I-20, travel south towards downtown Thomson (Washington Road will become Main St.), turn right onto Tom Watson Way. At the fork in the road bear right, this is Hickory Hill Drive. Continue for 3.8 miles and turn left onto Three Point Road. Continue for 1,2 miles and turned right onto the unmarked dirt road (this is Rock house Road.). the house is about 1/4 of a mile down on the right side of the road.
