Watson-Brown Foundation

Thomas E. Watson House

The Watson-Brown Foundation labors to improve education in the American South by funding its schools and students, preserving its history, encouraging responsible scholarship, and promoting the memory and values of our spiritual founders.

The Watson-Brown Foundation supports education directly by administering its own college scholarship program and by operating three house museums in Thomson, Ga.: the Thomas E. Watson birthplace, the Thomas E. Watson House and Hickory Hill.

Thomas E. Watson Birthplace

The primary mission of the Watson-Brown Foundation is to provide college scholarships to area students based on merit and need.

The Monroe Kimbrel Gardens, sprawled over four acres, offer environmental educational opportunities for area students.

Outdoor classroom areas flank the ponds and wetlands for class instruction; a continuous pathway surrounds the entire gardens and a gazebo provides shelter and a stunning vista over the three ponds.

Hickory Hill is the late 19th century's U.S. Senator Thomas E. Watson's estate.

The main pavilion houses a grill and barbeque pit. Walks and restroom facilities are handicap accessible.
