McDuffie County Board of Commissioners

McDuffie County Board of Commissioners

The Board of Commissioners is responsible for establishing county policies and for setting the county budget. It is the governing authority in all counties except those that are consolidated.

These county governing authorities are created by local act of the General Assembly, as provided for in the Georgia Constitution.

The Board of Commissioners is made up of five members, including one Chair and one Vice Chair, each living in a specific district and elected by district to serve four-year terms. The Commission Chair is elected by the entire county.

The commission meets in regular session twice a month, on the first Wednesday at 10 am and the third Tuesday at 6:30 pm with the meetings held in the Commissioners' Meeting Room on the first floor of the County Administration Building, 210 Railroad Street, Thomson.

The commission holds a work session once a month, the Monday evening prior to the Wednesday 10 am Regular session. The work session convenes at 6:30 pm and is also held in the Commissioners' Meeting Room,

Meet our Commissioners and thank you for your interest in county government.
