Board of Elections

The McDuffie County Board of Elections and Voter Registration created in 1990, is composed of five (5) members (2 Republican Representatives, 2 Democratic Representatives, and one chairman selected At-Large by members) and as a body serve as the Election Superintendent. The Board appoints a director for day to day operations, and collectively are responsible for maintaining voter registration and participation records for the county; conducting fair, impartial, accurate, convenient, and accessible elections; provide and promote public understanding and compliance of the laws, rules, and regulations which govern the election process.

The McDuffie County Board of Elections meets six times each year except during election years when additional meetings may be added. Call or visit  the Elections Office to obtain scheduled meeting dates/times. Currently, all meetings are held in the Grand Jury Room of the Old Courthouse, 337 Main Street, Thomson, GA 30824.
